You charge it with a USB-C cable, the same kind your phone uses. The built-in 800 mAh battery then gives you 3 to 4 hours of warm light. To switch it on or off, just tap the top panel. There are no buttons and nothing to set up.
The pleated paper shade works like a concertina. Pull it up and you get a tall lantern, push it down for a lower glow, or fold it right down flat when you want to put it away.
Because it’s completely cordless, you can put it on a bedside table, a shelf or a windowsill and there’s no cable trailing anywhere.

1. No cord, and it folds flat in seconds
There’s no plug and no cable to hide. The Lumina Fold has a built-in 800 mAh battery that you charge over USB-C, and a full charge gives you 3 to 4 hours of warm light. When you’re finished, press it down into a flat disc and pop it in a drawer.
2. One tap and it’s on
Touch the top and the light comes on. Touch it again and it goes off. That’s genuinely all there is to it. The Lumina Fold gives a warm white glow that suits the end of the day, and there are no buttons, apps or settings to work out.
3. Make it tall or keep it low
Pull the pleated shade up and you get a tall lantern. Push it down and the glow sits lower and softer. Opened up fully, the Lumina Fold reaches 20 cm, and it folds back into a flat disc when you’re done. It fits nicely on a bedside table, a shelf or a windowsill, and you won’t need a socket nearby.
4. Charges like your phone, made by hand
You charge the Lumina Fold with a USB-C cable, the same type most phones use now. The shade is folded by hand from specialty paper that holds its creases well, which is why each pleat catches the light slightly differently. Treat it gently and it will stay crisp for years.
